1988 Campion Allante 195
Submitted By: Seafrog
Date Created: 09-07-2006
Description: The updating and rejuvenation of a 19' Campion cuddy cabin, with a 5.7 liter Mercruiser. I bought the boat for a song, due to a leaking inboard fuel tank and a soft spot in the floor. The rest of the boat was in mint condidtion and only needed some TLC and updating. I have tackled the updating part and will concentrate on the floors and tank over the Fall and maybe into winter. I also recently discovered water in my lower unit oil, so we'll see how that transpires.

The day I got her home. As I mentiones already - She's in great shape and I purchased her at a third of her value. The blue gelcoat needs a little shining up. She came loaded on an EZ Loader trailer and spare tire. Hydraulic brakes, etc. A few reflectors and a light and some wiring imporvements was all it needed. I also replaced the winch rope with a strap and added a spare tire mount. I've had the boat out many times running on a 5 agl portable tank. She really moves!

Alpha One Leg on a 5.7 liter 260 hp. Even came with the SS prop and a spare aluminum one. One of my projects will include replacing the dinky swim platform with a teak or other full size one. I may build it myself or buy a used one on EBay that I can recondition. I replaced the impeller and seals after finding water in the leg. So far so good. If I find water again I'll replace the leg.

Cuddy View
Again, everything is in great shape. No mold or tears. The fabric was steam-cleaned after this pic. We will also add a portapottie.

One of my projects include updating this dash panel with new gauges and switches. I'll also add a fish finder and compass.

All the vinyl and teak was in excellent condidtion - no mold or rips. The teak needed some oil and the radio needs to be updated to a CD. Speakers are shot. Carpet is in good shape, but will need replacing when I pull up the rotting floor to replace the fuel tank. I may find more nightmares when I get the floor out!
