Top Side Painted
Wish I would have taken some before pics, it was a faded nasty looking aqua green, definitely a 60's type of paint. Probably matched the formica tables and green shag carpet

Knee Joint
Fiberglass cracked on knee joint. Coming away from transom, stringer and floor. Don't want my new toy being a very expensive anchor... Will need to fix that.

Wood looks great, sure is dusty work... used a sanding whell which wasn't effective. Took out the good ole Dremel with a grinding tip. Worked alot better.
Knee Joint sand down

Cut out part of floor board
The knee joint was not even with the stringer, looked like someone went crazy with glass. Will need to even that up, so I can put an additional piece of ply to the transom and stringer, for that extra support. Maybe it's overkill, just hate to lose my motor

Took the circular saw and tried to even it out, and lord and behold, there is no wood, first thought... the ever dreaded dry rot... but no wood at all. Upon further investigation, found a 1X2 on the top of the stringer. Looks like they use that to creat a frame and create an almost all fiberglass stringer.
Wheres the wood?

Destructive Handy Work, my expertise
I must say, that when it comes to creating more work for my self, I'm a pro.

Cut out the Knee Joint

Cut 1X2 Leaving Sides For New Knee Joint
Even thought the knee joint did not extend into the stringer space, thought that I could cut the top of the stringer space, so I can put in an extended knee joint. Should provide better strength.

Top is gone

New Knee Joint
Well cut out a knee joint. Plan on putting the small piece in the slot of the stringer. I' left the top lip on so that can butt up against the 1X2 at the top of the stringer for additional strength. I'll be squaring up the knee joint so it will be flush with the little piece of wood. Well that's it for today. Will continue tommorrow.

Must say, that surr luks purtyyyy
Knee Joint Installed

Sand Down on other two Knee Joints
Found some cracks on Knee joint and Stringer. Since I'm down here, might as well fix it nice and pretty... Dusty work, burnt out one Dremel. More money, more money, more money. This boat sure is a money sink....

Put in a Fillet on both sides of stringer / knee joint, then glassed it in with Cloth and Epoxy. Hopefully, this ain't going any where...
