This was my grandfather's old fishing boat. He passed away in 1987 while on a fishing trip with this boat. My father inherited it from him and it has been sitting ever since. I even found an empty Black Label beer can in the boat, quite likely grand dad's last beer. If you ask me, having "the big one" after a full day of fishing with your buddy and a few cold beers is a pretty damn good way to go. :)
The boat needs a lot of work, but in the end it will be a great boat for the family. Meanwhile it's a cool project to work on and a nice place to start teaching my son some basic mechanics and the value of fixing things.
