Description:

The air intake on Firebirds is rather restrictive. There are numerous after market kits to replace the air filter and air muffler (aka air box) with a straight hose. This reduces the restriction, and keeps the intake air temp low. The 98 model year 3.8 V6 has an angled intake and the aftermarket manufacturers seem to have ignored this model.
So I decided to make my own. First a Cool Blue low restriction cotton air filter replaces the stock paper filter, then I made an intake tube from flexable vinyl pipe. This is how it was done.
