Repowering the Gilson Gear Drive
I picked up the Gilson 'gear drive' snowblower and a Toro 2 cycle snowblower both for something like $50. At the time I picked up the Gilson, it had a Briggs 6 HP engine that has almost NO compression at all, and the carb leaks gas really bad, even after a rebuild.

After completing several other repairs to make the Gilson work, I never did blow snow with it as the engine lacked power and leaked gas all of the time.

When stumbled upon a pile of 3 used engines (for like $75) I thought I could use the Tecumseh HM80 from the pile to repower the old machine.

Someone already replaced the tires - wheels with these which the seller told me they came off an ariens or something like that..
