Description: I traded this boat outright for a car that I had sitting in my back yard for over a year the car was a 93 infinity g20 that I purchased 2 years ago for $300, drove it for a year and then parked it for a year so I got my moneys worth out of it, then I found this gem. It is my first boat with a motor in it before this I had a 16ft hobby cat sail that I loved then sold so I am new to this... I got it on March 18, 2011 and it is now April 12, 2011 less then a month later...
Tools / Materials: Go to the Boating Store

The boat as I got it...

This is day 2 and thus far I have not spent any money and decided to strip it down and see what I was working with, I find out I might be in over my head. The floor had been redone before but the factory floor wasn't replaced just covered over with new wood... I decide to go forth and if im going to do it then it's going to get done right and fully customized...
After gutting it...

exterior first...
First I decide to work on the exterior and come up with a color scheme to paint it. You'll see in the next picture what color I decided. After 3 days of body work and patching up all the wholes from the buttons for the old cover and countless hours with the orbital sander I get the first three coats of primer on (Yes I said three coats) and hand sanded down with a 600 grit paper, I get the first coat of white on. BTW thus far I have only spent somewhere around $120 I'm a bartender so I know allot of people and get discounts everywhere... LOL :)I

What suns fun in the sun better then yellow and white? This is the colors me and the wife decided on and yes I did this job myself with a borrowed compressor and spray gun and paint from west marine where I got 60% off because I knew someone. This is 3 coats of white and 3 yellow done over a weeks time.

the layout..
I know I know a few pictures missing here that I cant seem to find, to sum it up this is the layout me and my wife decided on after many drawings and sheets of paper. We wanted maximum seating with maximum walk around space as well as wanting a layout deck and a modern look. With this layout we can fit 7 or 6 very comfortably.

another picture of the layout and yes that is cheap wood that I used and I did it that way for a reason not because it was cheap although that was a nice quality but because it is a 3rd of the weight of pressure treated and after 3 gallons of poly lacqour on every inch of wood (thats 2 coats!) and 6 yards of fiberglass on the floor the wood will stay light and strong for years to come.

The bow,

The layout deck...
We decided on a modern classy look so we went with the gray sunbrella fabric and a plastic liner underneath with 8 inch thick memory foam that I had in the garage from a old queen bed we had. So far materials and all somewhere around $300

Finished the back part of the upholstery and the floor. For the floor I used what was left of the white poly primer, then went over that with 2 coats of some white garage floor paint (yes it adhered very well over the poly) then took what was left of the yellow and splattered it throughout the floor giving it a textured look.
back and floor done...

interior is done and this is where I am now...
