The metal brackets were used to support the 2x4 support bracing.

Here is a close up view of the brackets on the bottom of the boat to secure the upright 2x4 support braces.

The recessed trolling motor cut out is shown here, along with the new seat pedestal cut out. I moved it back a few inches, because with the recessed trolling motor tray the original placement was too close.
