Description: Building an offset reverse flow smoker from old fuel oil tanks.
I am building two smokers, one for myself that will be mounted to a trailer, and one for a friend that will be built on stand.

Old tank
We began by cleaning up the tank and laying out the location of the doors.

Before the doors were cut all the way the hinges were welded on.

Cleaned out
After cutting the doors the tanks were cleaned out using engine cleaner and degreasers. Along with typical car wash.

Here is the other tank after cleaning. Both tanks looked like new metal on the inside.

buring out tank 1
We built a couple big fires in the tank to clean out any reside from the previous use. After the fires, the tanks had no oily smell.
