1989 Celebrity Floor Project
Submitted By: DanStroup284
Date Created: 07-07-2007
Description: Replacing he ROTTED floor in my first boat. Picked it up a few years ago for a real good price and used it every summer. Past month I noticed more and more soft spots, so I decided to jump in head first.
Tools / Materials: Go to the Boating Store

Before the Project
Here she is. She will never know just what hit her.

Another view.
Before the Project

Before the tear down
Interior doesn't look "too" bad. Should be an easy project.

Hmm, won't ever look this way again.
Before the tear down

Side Panels
Thought these felt a little soft.

I thought that it felt a little soft.
THE FLOOR

THE FLOOR
I think that this project may be a little more involved than I thought.

Got all the bad stuff out, and fitting the new!
Fitting New Floor

Under the Edge
Actually was able to fit the new floor under the old glass tabbing for support. Hammer was there for "minor" adjustments.

Discovered that the partition in front was rotted too. So out it came!
No more wall!

Gettin there!
Fitted in and glassing the floor. Making real progress now!

Not a straight line to work with. Took lots of cardboard and lots of four letter words. The gaps were nothing big and filled in well.
Like a puzzle!

New box and wall
Fabricated a new seat box and wall. Had no idea what I was doing so...lots more cardboard templates!

Called it good. Glass, resin, glass, resin, resin, resin...and so on. Things feel very solid!
Glassing all done!

Another View!
Back to the front!

Home Depot Rocks!!!! Actually nice carpet for the price. Getting the big piece laid and will send more pics when the rest is done!!
Putting in the carpet!!!
