Description: 3rd generation owners of "The Muskie" a 17' Fiberglass Boat
Tools / Materials: Go to the Boating Store

From the front
Summer 05.....our first summer as new boat owners.

Lots of fun all summer.
from the rear

Interior
The Passenger side seating wasn't fixed to the floor very well.

After Winter Storage (Inside) I decided to fix that passenger seat. Turns out there wasn't much for the seat to screw into. I found a nice little crack in the fiberglass on top of the floor. When I peeled it back, I discovered a nice pile of plywood mulch. Looks like it's time for a new floor.
Uh-Oh

Hole Close UP
Close up of the new hole.

Cutting out the old floor. I am having a much tougher time with this than I thought I would. Seems that not all of the floor is totally mulch. I did discover a little bit of standing water along the center stringer.
Out with the old

This can't be good
This is the center stringer lookin aft. The stingers are hard and solid, but they are pretty moist, hopefully just on the outside.

I now have most of the floor out.

Front Closeup
Here is a closeup of the front floor section. I am not quite sure if I have gone far enough forward. Forward of here is a fiberglass bulkhead that steps up for soem storage under the bow. The plywood floor in this area was solid and hard to cut (and I was pretty nervous next to the outside hull.

This is a closeup of the center section. There is standing water on either side of the center stringer. Most of the plywood in this area was soft and crumbled in my hand.

Looking aft
Floor removed aft. I have a little further to go.

The plywood appeared to be glued to the hull. No saws in this area, too scary.
Hull to floor

The wrecking area
Nice pile of rubble on the garage floor.
