Andrew's 15ft
Submitted By: lark2004
Date Created: 07-17-2005
Description: An old fibreglass boat of unknown make. The transom and floor were shot. The outboard is a 1968 Lark X 40hp with selectric shift. Some parts are from a 1971 bigtwin 40 and a 1975 bigtwin 40.

Don't know when it will be finished, just working on it when I can.

Can't see these connector comming off anytime soon!

The head has been welded and machined, All ready to be Re-assembled
Ready to be put on!

The water cover is on, just waiting for my head gasket.....

I got a bit bored this evening. The badgeing still needs some black paint to highlight the EVINRUDE wording.

This is my old girl.... Smokey. She loves to just be around....

The port side of the complete engine
Finished, the port side.

New wiring, fully rebuilt vacumm cutout switch.
Starboard side

The cowling completed
Cowling locked on, all new engine cover seals etc...

Finished, at last. This has taken way too long. But it's very satisfying. Considering what I started with. And almost every Evinrude dealer in Brisbane telling me to bin it and buy a new motor...... Except for Alan Downes, from Downes Marine. He has been very helpfull, now it's at a stage that I can show him. And hope it is up to his expectations. (he also collects old Johnnyrudes)
The complete motor

the old transom
I think they're railway sleepers......

As it sits right now. The new transom has been cut. It is two pieces of 3/4" ply that will be glassed together, then fitted to the hull. Need Epoxy first......
