15 ft runabout restoration
Submitted By: Three08

Description: Restoring a 1970's 15 ft runabout and trailer.

I will be doing this project in stages. Starting with the seaworthy items on the boat, then working on the motor after that to get the boat ready for the water. (It's snapper season in Melbourne right now)

I'm planning on storing the boat at a local boat storage center at the marina, it will be dry docked and available for me to use at any time while I work on the trailer.

Once the trailer is done the boat will come out of storage and I'll start working on all the cosmetic things like seats and paint restoration.

Already started the keel as I felt the damage was to bad to use the boat until that was fixed so gelcoat repairs are being done first.

Boat:

* Restore gelcoat along keel

* Fix forward controls and key start

* Reupholster rear bench seat

* Replace front bench seat with swivel seats or reupholster existing front bench seat to match rear seat.

* Install automatic bilge pumping system and inspection hatches.

* Install anchor hatch

* Repaint hull

* Repaint Gunwhale

* Repaint or carpet deck

Trailer:

* Replace keel rollers

* Replace material on bunks

* Sand back and repaint trailer

* Rewire trailer

* Replace winch

* Replace every nut & bolt

* Replace springs

* Replace axle
