Planing away to deep water.
|

When a grounding has occurred the drive can be held right up level with the keel and the boat driven to deep water.The action of the drive grounding is cam-like and the power of the propeller does not have to be overcome before the drive can lift,as with outboard or inboard/outboard.A water jet would suck onto the bottom and get clogged with weeds and sand.Note very flat plane angle.
